Actor Jason Statham, who starred in this year’s films “Blitz”, “The Mechanic” as well as a voice in “Gnomeo & Juliet” has listed his post-and-beam architectural home on Rising Glen Road, just north of Sunset Plaza Drive. Statham purchased the home back in 2005 for $2.4 million and has now placed it on the market for a slightly higher price of $2,749,000. (probably trying to cover all those pesky closing fees)
The three bedroom, three bath home is a single story mid-century design with walls of glass that open to a private pool and seating area, with landscaping designed by Jay Griffith, whose work has been instrumental in preserving my many historical landmark properties throughout Los Angeles.
For all you foodies, the Sunset Plaza area of the Sunset Strip is home to some of LA’s most well-known and long-standing eateries such as Il Sole, Cravings, Le Petit Four, Café Med and Le Clafoutis, and also a couple newer hotspots like BLT Steak (formerly home to the restaurant Le Dome), Café Primo and Eveleigh (located in the old Kenneth Cole store).
And all you label-junkies, the Plaza is also a popular spot for finding some of the hottest fashions. There are numerous boutiques including H. Lorenzo, Nicole Miller and Oliver Peoples scattered in between the restaurants and outdoor cafes, all within a 5 minute stroll.
Fitness fanatic? The area also features Equinox Gym at the Millenium Project, a newer retail and office space development located near the corner of Sunset and La Cienega. It is without a doubt one of the better health club franchises that LA has to offer.
Scenester? Wannabe? Poser? You’ll probably fit in here as well. Sunset Plaza: something for everyone!
